Key Features
This backyard was thoughtfully reimagined to balance function and aesthetics, including:
- Deck Access Integration: Custom steps with clean black railing connect the upper deck to the new landscape seamlessly.
- Paved Patio Circle: The central hardscaped area provides the perfect zone for a future fire pit or lounge space.
- Artificial Turf Installation: A lush, organically-shaped synthetic lawn adds vibrant greenery without the upkeep of real grass.
- Natural Elements: Strategically placed boulders and ornamental grasses bring in texture and soften the geometry of the space.
- Modern Stepping Stones: A sleek paver path leads to the shed, framed by decorative stone that blends beautifully with the home’s aesthetic.
Sometimes, the best projects begin with good neighbours—and that was exactly the case here. For this modern backyard makeover, two side-by-side homeowners teamed up to transform their outdoor spaces simultaneously. While we’ll explore the second property in a future post, today we’re showcasing the stunning redesign of the first yard: a stylish blend of structure, simplicity, and low-maintenance beauty.

Creating the Vision
What started as a patch of overgrown grass and cluttered corners quickly became a clean slate. Our team carefully prepped and graded the soil, installing drainage-friendly layers and compacted base for the patio and paths. With the homeowners’ input, we selected pavers and materials that would echo the home’s modern tones while offering timeless charm.
The artificial turf was shaped organically to soften the hardscape edges and provide a playful, usable green space for both relaxing and entertaining. The side yard was cleaned up and fitted with decorative stone for both drainage and design continuity—creating a polished finish from every angle.
Summary
This project is a perfect example of how a well-planned landscape can completely redefine a space. The final result is elegant, low-maintenance, and built for modern outdoor living—perfectly suited to the homeowners’ style and needs.
Stay tuned for Part Two next month, where we’ll reveal the second property and how both yards were designed to complement each other while remaining unique.
