Silversage Project #2

The original backyard featured patchy grass, a basic shed, and a wooden pergola over pavers that felt incomplete. Our goal was to turn this underutilized yard into a space that invites relaxation, entertaining, and everyday beauty.

Key Features:

  • Replaced the worn grass with decorative rock and hardy plantings for a low-maintenance, high-impact garden.
  • Integrated large, natural stepping stones that guide guests through a lush bed of flowering perennials and ornamental grasses.
  • Created a circular paver patio anchored with comfortable outdoor seating and a swinging chair—perfect for enjoying a summer evening.
  • Enhanced the existing pergola with a BBQ zone and built-in bar area, blending function and charm for outdoor hosting.

The result is a curated backyard retreat that balances elegance with ease. It’s not only more visually dynamic, but also more functional for day-to-day life and gatherings.

The front yard also saw a major overhaul. Originally sparse and grassy, it now boasts a modern, xeriscape-inspired look that complements the home’s exterior and makes a strong first impression.

Key Features:

  • A stylish dry riverbed look using clean gravel, oversized boulders, and carefully selected ornamental grasses.
  • Native, drought-tolerant plants provide year-round interest with virtually no maintenance.
  • A natural stone border outlines the planting beds, giving the yard a sculpted, finished look.

This transformation doesn’t just increase curb appeal—it sets the tone for the entire home, welcoming guests with sophistication and a modern prairie aesthetic.
